2014 MASSBAD HIGH SCHOOL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE: BADMINTON COURTS ARE NOT OPEN TO MEMBERS AND GUESTS ON SUN, MAR 2
Eleven high school teams (over 140 athletes from 15 high schools) will compete for the Team Championship on Sun, Mar 2. The participating schools are:
Acton-Boxborough Regional High School
Algonquin Regional High School-Milford HS
Lexington High School
Lincoln Sudbury High School- Amherst HS and Co.
Marblehead High School
Natick High School
Newton North High School
Newton South High School
Wellesley High School-Advanced Math and Sciences Academy
Westborough High School-Wayland HS
Westford Academy
The number of entries is definitely a good sign of increasing interest in competitive badminton in Massachusetts high schools. Just 3 weeks ago, 15 Collegiate teams from all over the Northeast came together for the NE Collegiate Championships in Boston Badminton. In another month, many of these High School athletes will see action in the US National Championships to be held also at Boston Badminton. The last time the Nationals was held in Boston was in 1970.
