BOSTON BADMINTON BIDS FAREWELL TO COACH THOMAS INDRATJAYA WELCOMES ANDY CHONG AS HEAD COACH

 

Coach Thomas Indratjaya has decided to go back to Indonesia in early November to be reunited with his family.  The staff of Boston Badminton and all those who trained with him will miss him a lot.  We all wish him well in his new coaching assignment in Jakarta.
 
Andy Chong is no newcomer to badminton coaching.  With a successful playing career which saw him rank 22nd in the world, Andy has been involved in professional training and coaching for over 30 years in both corporate and athletic environments (US Olympics, Bose Corporation).  For over a decade, he has served as the USA Badminton High Performance Coach, Consultant and Technical Advisor and was Head Coach of the USA Team in various international competitions including the BWF World Championships, Sudirman Cup, Pan Am Championships, World Junior Championships, and Pan Am Junior Championships.  In 2001-02, Andy served as the National Olympic Coach at the US Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.  He has been a Club Badminton Professional since 1989 for various Clubs including Talbodalen Badminton Klub in Sweden, Northshore Junior Badminton Association (currently Marblehead Youth Badminton) and Maugus Club.
