Head Coach Andy Chong’s Busy Schedule

 
As one of the rare Level 4 High Performance Coaches in the country, Coach Andy Chong is tasked with an ever busy USA Badminton schedule.  Andy was the USA Badminton National Coach of the Year twice, in 2009 and in 2011.  He has led many US Teams in international tournaments.
Fresh from his return after serving as the Head Coach for (silver medalist)  Team USA to the XVII Pan Am Badminton Championships  Team Event on Oct 8-10 in Lima, Peru, Andy Chong is again headed out, this time to Chiba, Japan for the BWF World Junior Championships on Oct 25-Nov 3.  He serves as the Head Coach for the USA Junior Team which includes Alan Shekhtman from Newton,MA.

BOSTON BADMINTON COURTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS AND GUESTS ON SUNDAY, SEPT 30, 8:30 AM TO 1 PM

COURTS WILL BE USED FOR THE CLUB TRAINING PROGRAM AND THE TOURNAMENT DURING THIS TIME.  After 1 pm, the Club is open to members and guests, with four courts available for use.  At 3 pm six courts will be available and at 5 pm, the tournament ends, and ALL courts are open for use.

FIRST SCRIMMAGE FOR NEW ENGLAND TEAMS

 
            Six teams from four New England states will face off in a scrimmage at Boston Badminton in Westborough, MA on Sunday, Sept 30.   The teams, with members coming from MA, NH, CT and RI are: Maugus Warriors, CT Scam, Boston Phantom, Maugus Tiger, Team SNHBC and Team RIBC  will face off in a pool play format (three teams per group) starting 9 am.

CLUB IS NOW OPEN STARTING 4 PM Tue through Fri

 
            As the interest in badminton grows, Boston Badminton is opening its doors starting 4 pm, Tuesdays through Fridays, so students can come and play after school and adults can enjoy lower entry fees.  From 4 to 6 pm, walk-in fees are at $6 and players coming without companion,will be delighted to note that when the Club staff is not tied up, he/she will either play with you or connect you with other players.

USA BADMINTON LEVEL 2 COMMUNITY COACH COURSE TO BE HELD IN BOSTON BADMINTON, WESTBOROUGH, MA ON NOV 17-18

 
The Northeast Region Badminton Association (NER) is excited to announce a golden opportunity in the northeast to become a USAB certified Level 2 Community Coach. Andy Chong, USAB High Performance Level 4 Coach; Mohan Subramaniam, Director Coaching & High Performance and Fred Coleman from USA Badminton will be conducting the coaching class on Nov 17-18 at Boston Badminton in 169 Flanders Road, Westborough, MA 01581. Should the course fee and the cost of other requirements be an obstacle to your goal of becoming a USAB certified coach, I am happy to inform you that the NER has recently established the Don Paup Coaching Fund to help worthy coaches in the Northeast.
