SIX TEAMS TO COMPETE ON SUN, JAN 6 FOR THE FIRST MASSBAD HIGH SCHOOL TEAM BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP

 
Courts are not available to members and guests on Sunday, Jan 6.

The six teams, seven schools are:
1.      Marblehead High School (MHS)
2.      Acton-Boxborough Regional High School (ABRHS)
3.      Newton North High School (NNHS)
4.      Newton South High School (NSHS)
5.      Westford Academy (WA)
6.      Wellesley High School-Advance Math and Sciences Charter School (WHS-AMSA)
Participating teams are divided into two pools of three teams:

Club Schedule for Christmas and New Year Eve

 
Enjoy playing badminton with friends and family on December 24 and 31.  Boston Badminton will open from 1 to 6 pm; $6 entry charge per guest.  Members can play at any time.

Happy Holidays! Holiday Challenge Court and Party to be held on Saturday, Dec 22

 
Happy Holidays to all our members and guests!
Thank you for choosing to play at Boston Badminton.  We will have a potluck Holiday Party at the Club on Saturday, Dec 22 at 7 pm.  We will also be celebrating birthdays of three beloved Club members.   Starting 3:30 pm, we will run a Doubles Challenge on Court 4.  Start with Men’s Doubles, then Women’s Doubles and then Mixed Doubles.  The pair that win three straight games will get Boston Badminton T-shirts or a tube of shuttlecock.

America's Best Women's Doubles Pair To Coach on Dec 26-29

 
Boston Badminton congratulates America’s best women’s doubles team, Eva Lee and Paula o’Banana,  for all the Championships won in 2012: USA Adult Trials; Norway, Guatemala, Brazil and Tahiti International.  We are thrilled about their coming to share their talent and skills.
Join Eva and Paula’s Doubles Training Sessions on Dec 26 and 28, 7-9 pm and support them as they represent the USA in international tournaments.

Changes in Training Program
Starting January, the Competitive Intermediate and Advance Training Programs will each be split into two levels, A and B, with A comprising of the more advance players.  Please consult Coach Andy to determine which level you belong.  A new training registration form is now posted.

A Strong Push for Competitive Badminton in Massachusetts

 
Over 40 years ago, competitive badminton was very popular in Massachusetts and a number of Northeast players won World Titles.  Today, three Clubs are spearheading training in competitive badminton: Boston Badminton, Marblehead Youth Badminton and Maugus Club.  Together, players from these Clubs in Massachusetts bring in more medals than any of the East Coast states in Regional and National Tournaments.
