Breaking News: Head Coach Andy Coach is USA BADMINTON NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR

It is a fitting tribute to an outstanding coach who serves in the Coaching Advisory Group and works with the High Performance Coaching Pool of USA Badminton.  Andy Chong, Head Coach of Boston Badminton, has been chosen as the USA Badminton National Coach of the Year.  He has and continues to be involved nationally with athlete and coach development projects.  In 2011, he served as Team USA Head Coach for the BWF World Championships in London, the Pan Am Junior Championships in Jamaica and the Sudirman Cup in China.  In awarding Andy Chong the 2011 National Coach of the Year, USA Badminton cites:
The goals of the USOC coach of the Year Program was to elevate the status of coaching as a profession and to recognize the best coaches in the United States. The program is an exciting way to recognize coaches who prepare our athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
This award serves as a testament to your dedication to the Olympic ideals and recognizes your excellence in coaching.  The USOC recognizes one coach in their respective sport for this award annually.  Coaches are assessed on the basis of coaching excellence, the performance of their athletes, and the knowledge, experience, and attitude they bring to the field of play.
                Congratulations Andy!
