USA BADMINTON LEVEL 2 COMMUNITY COACH COURSE TO BE HELD IN BOSTON BADMINTON, WESTBOROUGH, MA ON NOV 17-18

 
The Northeast Region Badminton Association (NER) is excited to announce a golden opportunity in the northeast to become a USAB certified Level 2 Community Coach. Andy Chong, USAB High Performance Level 4 Coach; Mohan Subramaniam, Director Coaching & High Performance and Fred Coleman from USA Badminton will be conducting the coaching class on Nov 17-18 at Boston Badminton in 169 Flanders Road, Westborough, MA 01581. Should the course fee and the cost of other requirements be an obstacle to your goal of becoming a USAB certified coach, I am happy to inform you that the NER has recently established the Don Paup Coaching Fund to help worthy coaches in the Northeast.

Overview
The Level 2 Community Coach Course is a 16 hour course run over two days and is directed to those interested in promoting and developing players who want to improve their skills at the grassroots up to those who are beginning to be introduced into competitions. Sixty-seventy percent of the course will be practical.
Primary Audience:
This course is open to all school teachers, sports leaders, badminton coaches, parents, etc who have gone through the previous USAB Level1 Coaching Course and have some coaching experience working with youth older than 14 years and adults of all levels within the recreational set up. Participants need to have a minimum level of play (ability to rally, and demonstrate basic strokes).
Entry Prerequisites:
· Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must have completed the previous USAB Level 1 Coaching Course.
· Must have a minimum level of play (ability to rally, and demonstrate basic strokes)
· Must be a current USAB Member.
· Must have completed ASEP Coaching Principles program.
· Must have completed First Aid & CPR through ASEP or American Red Cross
· Must have passed background_check administered through the National Center For Safety
      Initiatives.
· Must be in good health and fit to participate in the course activities.
· Must read the USAB Waiver and Release of Liability form and hand in the form before the
course begins.
· Must have read and/or attended the USAB USOC Coaches’ Code of Ethics and Conduct
module at the course and hand in the signed acknowledgement at the course
Certification
· Credits will be given for each module completed.
· Certification will be given if all course prerequisites have been met.
· Participant has attended and participated in all modules (note: if candidates are only able to complete some modules, they will have to complete the rest of the modules at a later date.)
· Candidates meet all assessment standards Candidates complete all written assignments
· The course focuses on the coaches’ competency. Coaches who apply without a Level 1
Community Coach (L1CC) Certificate will be accepted. However, should the instructor(s) find
that the candidate does not meet the competency needs of the course, he/she will not be
awarded the Level @ Community Coach (L2CC) Certificate. He/she will instead be awarded a
L1CC Certificate. The candidate may also be asked to complete other assignments in order to be awarded the L2CC.
· No hard copy certificates will be awarded. All candidates who have been certified as competent as L2CC coaches, will be able to print certificates online from their profile. An original hard copy certificate may be requested from the national office but an administrative fee of $10 will be charged.
